Meals on Wheels of Salem County New Jersey delivers nutritious meals to elderly and disabled county residents who cannot shop for or prepare meals on their own because of physical or mental disabilities.
From the beginning, Meals on Wheels has provided daily care and concern for Salem County’s homebound residents. Our main focus has always been on the importance of nutrition for those who are chronically ill and confined primarily to their homes due to illness or advancing age. It is hard to imagine what Salem County would be like without such a program.
Meals on Wheels moves forward with the same values that helped our program grow over the last 30 years. Volunteers will continue to play a pivotal role in the success of the program. The program’s ability to grow from serving 3,930 meals to over 50,000 a year has depended upon those volunteers as well as a dedicated volunteer Board of Trustees who remain committed to the organizational mission.
Our agency enters our 4th decade of service with a rich and honorable history. We can be proud of all our accomplishments and the unmatched volunteer service provided to the community. We not only look back with thanks and appreciation, but also forward with direction and determination to continue touching lives…
one meal at a time.
